Book Scorecard

**Stars**
Overall
4
This is just the beginning of what promises to be a tawdry tale involving the darkest aspects of human nature. Warning: Violence and implied incest.
Fantasy World
3
NYC underbelly. Feels real enough, and I would love even more details.
Tingle
4
Very hot! This is down and dirty with some dubious consent.
Characters
4
Lost souls mired in sex and drugs. You know they are going to make more wrong choices than right ones.
Story
4
Serialized novel so this is just the beginning. Plenty to entice me into one clicking the next installments. It would be even better if there were more flashbacks to what drove Jess to move to NYC and her descent into drugs, rock stars, and stripping.

About the author:

Bella Ross is a writer with many passions, two of which are writing and travelling. She wrote her first book (a novel) at eighteen a la Jackie Collins. But back then, unbeknownst to her, life was about to take her on a detour. As she set off on her new course, her dream of writing took a backseat and her entrepreneurial spirit flourished instead. But after many years of worldly pursuits, the urge to write returned and the time was right to follow her bliss.

She believes its never too late to follow your dreams/bliss.

Her books/stories are her first attempt at erotic romance. She loves the genre and its endless creative possibilities. She likes pairing bold and dynamic (Alpha) men with sexy and strong women – which in her opinion – make for a hot and sizzling combination. With her love of travel, it is no surprise that her ‘Wanderlust Series’ take place in glamorous capitals or exotic locales around the world. Its the perfect backdrop/setting for her characters to explore and indulge their lusts and passions, loves and desires.

When she’s not writing, she’s reading, or gallivanting all over seeking new inspiration, or people watching while enjoying a latte at Starbucks and jotting down ideas.

She loves to hear from readers, and looks forward to interacting through her social media channels. You can also sign up for her mailing list to be notified about new releases and promotional offers.

Nick Roman – he’s…complicated.  Hotness personified, mysterious, married but let’s not let that stop us.  His marriage is…complicated.  Anyway you put it he’s a whole lot of man.

When Jess sees him for the first time she knows she’s in trouble.  Big  trouble.  Insanely sensual, dark good looks, sexy as sin, deep voice.  What is not to lust over.  And, of course the cocky son of a bitch know what type of effect he as on woman.

Which is why you remember what your mama told you and never get involved with men like that.  Ya know, “connected.”

You just know he’s hiding a boat load of secrets,  you don’t know you don’t wanna know about.  But you love him anyway because underneath all that is that charm, that irresistible charm that draws you in.

But underneath the exterior is a man who will do anything for the right woman.  Lay down his life if he has too.  He will always have your back through thick and thin.  And even though you always feel you want to jump over a cliff when you’re with him, at least you know he will be holding your hand.

This part in Jay-Z and Yonce’s 03 Bonnie & Clyde comes to mind when thinking of Nick Roman.

And I don’t have to worry, only worry is him
She do anything necessary for him
And I do anything necessary for her
so don’t let the necessary occur, yep!

Fallen Angel – Book One

NikkiPart1psjpegBlurb: When Jess packed up her belongings and fled her small hometown in Kansas, she never looked back. Free from her family’s dark past she was finally able to pursue her lifelong dream as a professional dancer. She never expected to find herself at his door…or at his club.

Nikolas was unlike any other man she had ever met. Sexy…Alluring…Predatory. Dangerous. The kind of man with more secrets than even she had. Every instinct warned Jess against knowing him further, but she always did like playing with fire…

Nikolas Roman took one look at Jess and knew she was trouble from the very start. But something about the defiant twist of her mouth and the wide, haunted eyes of a damaged soul touched him in places he had long ago thought dead. He knew he needed to stay far away from her for his own sanity, but like a moth to a flame he was helpless to resist…

Working at Takers gentleman’s club was the last place Jess thought she would find herself, but she quickly learned how the game was played. See what you want, take what you can get…but at what cost?

Excerpt: Rated 18 and up due to mature nature

He opened the door for her, and she climbed into his Benz. When he shut the door and climbed into the car as well, she knew there was no going back. He smiled at her, his look one of anticipation…and lust.

Journey blared from the radio as they drove quickly down the Jersey Pike. She couldn’t help but laugh at him singing Any Way You Want It. Neither of them spoke and you could cut the building sexual tension with a knife.

They pulled up to what had to be his infamous apartment. She knew he had a house in Elizabeth along with his wife. His wife…..Jess knew when she walked in there with him exactly what she would be doing to her and was shocked she truly didn’t care.

He jumped out of the car, opening the door for her. When she got out he grabbed her hand, leading her up wooden stairs. When they reached the top, he told her to stay on the porch for a moment. He then took out his gun, opened the door and went inside. Within a few minutes he reappeared.

“All clear.”

“Had to make sure we were alone?” Jess rolled her eyes as she walked past him. Trying her hardest not to sound jealous.

“Had to get the video ready.” He was sarcastic, and sounded harsh. And bitter.

“I’m sorry. It’s just…you’re married and-”

“I have not slept with my wife in years. She barely let me touch her when I was allowed to.” Nick laughed humorlessly. “Look, can we not do this now? Yes, I’m married. You deserve an explanation, and sometime, I’ll give you one, but not tonight. Is that ok with you?

When she turned from the door the blue sun dress she wore swayed yet clung to her hips. He saw her back was bare almost to her ass. She spoke without turning.

“Consider the subject closed. For now.”

“Thank you. Want a drink? Wine?”

“Sure, wine would be great.”

He disappeared around the corner and she moved to the couch in front of the bay window to look out. Nick returned with two glasses of wine and stopped in his tracks.

Jess’ hair hung over her shoulder in cascading curls. The moon shone through the window and caught her dress making it almost transparent. He was still standing there when she turned, settling onto the couch and crossing one long leg over the other. She spread her arms out on the back of the couch expansively.

“It’s beautiful.”

He finally made himself walk toward her and handed her the wine as he sat down.

“Not half as stunning as the view from here, kid.”

She turned slightly, angling her knees as close to him as possible. At first glance he appeared to be completely relaxed. He had one arm resting on the back of the couch while the other gripped his wine glass. He sipped his wine and she noticed his free hand was in a fist, his jaw tight. It was like he was holding himself under rigid control.

He leaned forward and placed the wine on the table, reaching over taking hers as well. He placed his hands around her waist, lifting her onto his lap with little effort, moving her legs so she was facing him. Putting both hands in her hair, he pulled her to him and kissed her, claiming her mouth with brute force he couldn’t control. His tongue filled her mouth with an intoxicating taste of wine…and Nick.

Jess pulled her dress up around her waist and pushed against his cock. She paused for a moment at its sheer size. He pulled back from kissing her and looked at her. All the tension was gone from his face and the only expression was one of hunger.

With a strength she’d never felt, he carried her with her long, muscular legs wrapped around him to the bedroom. Without words, he placed her gently on the edge of the bed, pushed her flat and then leaned over to kiss her, gently this time, soothing her punished, bruised lips.

Moving to his knees he flicked his tongue over her clit causing her to cry out. He licked and sucked around her clit, sliding his stiffened tongue in and out, doing everything but what she so desperately needed. Finally he took her in his mouth and slid one finger in, then two, inside of her. When he hummed against her and thrust his thick fingers against the walls of her pussy once more, she exploded in one of the hardest, deepest orgasms of her life.

terri osburn: meant to be

First off, thank you, Alisa, for this opportunity. I love this site and the fun vibe you have going. I am happy to report that my first novel, a contemporary romance called MEANT TO BE, went live to the world this week. The buildup was lots of stress eating and hand-wringing, but now that it’s out, I can breathe.

And continue to stress eat. Sigh.

MEANT TO BE is the first in my Anchor Island Series. Anchor Island is a fictitious place based on the real life Ocracoke Island at the base of the Outer Banks in North Carolina. It is accessible by ferry only, a twelve mile landing strip, then a village about two miles wide and one mile long.

Yes, I take small town to a whole new level. Needless to say, there are no traffic lights on Anchor Island. There is also no cell phone service. SMALL!

So, when the book opens, the heroine, Beth Chandler, is on the ferry on her way to meet her future in-laws. She’s alone because her fiancé, Lucas Dempsey, is a workaholic who needed to stop at the office before they left Richmond and sent her on ahead. As a people pleaser, Beth has a tendency to do these sorts of things she’d rather not do, but that would make others happy.

This particular setup—alone riding a ferry—is a problem because Beth has a deep-seated fear of drowning. Well, technically, she’s only afraid of drowning while riding a boat. She can take a bath with no panic whatsoever. Anyway, she’s in the midst of a panic attack when along comes a hero of the four-legged variety. Oh yeah, and he has a friend.

Breathing in through her nose, she blew the air out through her mouth. Just then, hot breath fluttered over her left arm and an unpleasant smell filled her nostrils.

That could not be her breath.

Heavy panting invaded the silence of the car and Beth opened one eye to find the source. Big brown eyes surrounded by rust-colored fur stared back. One ear flopped forward while a black tongue lolled to the side. The animal tilted his head and lifted a large paw, propping it on her thigh.

She might have flinched had she not been frozen in fear.

“What’d you find, Dozer?” asked a voice from somewhere behind the intruder.

Looking past the mutt, she saw a man draw up behind him. Bright blue eyes and a stubble-covered chin were all she registered before shifting her focus back to her hands. Defending herself against a madman on a barge was probably going to be difficult without the use of her hands.

“Hi there,” he said, giving the dog a pat on the head. Then he mumbled, “Good boy.” Presumably to the dog.

The stranger’s voice, low and sensual, vibrated down her spine. Her hands relaxed enough to allow blood flow back into her knuckles. The book hadn’t suggested finding a sexy guy to talk her down. She should have looked harder until she found one written by a woman.

“Hi,” she said, her brain now as uncooperative as her hands. She ventured another glance in the dog owner’s direction and her entire body sighed.

The man was, as her granny would say, built for sin. Full lips, strong jaw, and one deep dimple finished off a face gifted with the bluest eyes she’d ever seen. Wide shoulders filled out a navy-blue T-shirt that tapered down to a narrow waist and low-slung jeans. She couldn’t see his feet behind the dog, but would bet her best business suit he sported work boots.

Talk about answered prayers. This was a flotation device she wouldn’t mind going down with.

Things get a little complicated from here as an attraction ignites (which she’s prepared to ignore as she’s an engaged woman), but then Beth learns that the dog owner is her future brother-in-law, Joe Dempsey. There’s lots of tension, a villainess who happens to be Joe’s ex-fiance, and a great deal of angst. But there is a happy ending. You’ll just have to read the whole thing to see how that happens.

Thanks again to Alisa for having me here today. If you’d like to learn more about me or my work, you can grab all the details on my website at http://www.terriosburn.com.

Blurb:

Sometimes the next best thing is what you’ve been looking for all along…

Beth Chandler has spent her whole life pleasing others. She went to law school to make her grandparents happy. She agreed to marry her workaholic boyfriend, Lucas, to make him happy. And, despite her fear of boats, she took a ferry to see Lucas’s parents just to make them happy.

While suffering through a panic attack on the ferry, Beth meets a tall, sexy stranger who talks her down from her fear—and makes her heart flutter in the process. Soon, she has a new reason to panic: her gorgeous, blue-eyed rescuer is Lucas’s brother, Joe.

But could she ever leave her fiancé for his own brother…even if Lucas is more focused on making partner than on making their relationship work…and even if Joe turns out to be everything she never knew she wanted?

A sound that could only be called a meep escaped her lips. Engaged women were not supposed to have lustful thoughts about men who were not their fiancé. Being engaged for a mere two weeks was no excuse.

“Are you okay?” he asked, clearly recognizing insanity when he saw it.

“I’m fine,” she yelled, panic raising her voice several decibels. Though she wasn’t sure if the panic was still over imminent death or her heightened hormone levels. “No problem here. Move along, please.”

The dog set his other paw on her leg and nearly climbed onto her lap, his head popping up between her arms. “What’s he doing?” she asked.

The man chuckled and Beth shivered. “Saying hello.”

A dark tongue dangled dangerously close to her nose. “Do you feed him black licorice or something?” The dog’s entire tongue was black. “That’s the chow in him. Also what gives him that big head. You should hear him bark.”

Right on cue, the dog did just that, making her ears ring. If she hadn’t been staring into the face of a dog, Beth would swear a grizzly had climbed into her car. “You need a breath mint. Bad.”

“You’ve scared her enough, Doze. Get off the pretty lady.” As the dog backed out of the car, Beth tried to ignore the compliment, but felt a blush heat her cheeks. “This crossing takes a while,” he said. “You could come out and walk around. Most people do.”

“People are walking around?” Fear momentarily trumped by amazement, Beth turned toward the stranger as far as the seat belt and her grip on the wheel would allow. “How can people be taking a leisurely stroll as if we aren’t all about to perish in the sea?”

“Just trusting, I guess.” The man smiled as he took a step back. Her libido tried to take a step forward. Seat belts really were lifesaving devices.
