Nick Roman – he’s…complicated.  Hotness personified, mysterious, married but let’s not let that stop us.  His marriage is…complicated.  Anyway you put it he’s a whole lot of man.

When Jess sees him for the first time she knows she’s in trouble.  Big  trouble.  Insanely sensual, dark good looks, sexy as sin, deep voice.  What is not to lust over.  And, of course the cocky son of a bitch know what type of effect he as on woman.

Which is why you remember what your mama told you and never get involved with men like that.  Ya know, “connected.”

You just know he’s hiding a boat load of secrets,  you don’t know you don’t wanna know about.  But you love him anyway because underneath all that is that charm, that irresistible charm that draws you in.

But underneath the exterior is a man who will do anything for the right woman.  Lay down his life if he has too.  He will always have your back through thick and thin.  And even though you always feel you want to jump over a cliff when you’re with him, at least you know he will be holding your hand.

This part in Jay-Z and Yonce’s 03 Bonnie & Clyde comes to mind when thinking of Nick Roman.

And I don’t have to worry, only worry is him
She do anything necessary for him
And I do anything necessary for her
so don’t let the necessary occur, yep!

Fallen Angel – Book One

NikkiPart1psjpegBlurb: When Jess packed up her belongings and fled her small hometown in Kansas, she never looked back. Free from her family’s dark past she was finally able to pursue her lifelong dream as a professional dancer. She never expected to find herself at his door…or at his club.

Nikolas was unlike any other man she had ever met. Sexy…Alluring…Predatory. Dangerous. The kind of man with more secrets than even she had. Every instinct warned Jess against knowing him further, but she always did like playing with fire…

Nikolas Roman took one look at Jess and knew she was trouble from the very start. But something about the defiant twist of her mouth and the wide, haunted eyes of a damaged soul touched him in places he had long ago thought dead. He knew he needed to stay far away from her for his own sanity, but like a moth to a flame he was helpless to resist…

Working at Takers gentleman’s club was the last place Jess thought she would find herself, but she quickly learned how the game was played. See what you want, take what you can get…but at what cost?

Excerpt: Rated 18 and up due to mature nature

He opened the door for her, and she climbed into his Benz. When he shut the door and climbed into the car as well, she knew there was no going back. He smiled at her, his look one of anticipation…and lust.

Journey blared from the radio as they drove quickly down the Jersey Pike. She couldn’t help but laugh at him singing Any Way You Want It. Neither of them spoke and you could cut the building sexual tension with a knife.

They pulled up to what had to be his infamous apartment. She knew he had a house in Elizabeth along with his wife. His wife…..Jess knew when she walked in there with him exactly what she would be doing to her and was shocked she truly didn’t care.

He jumped out of the car, opening the door for her. When she got out he grabbed her hand, leading her up wooden stairs. When they reached the top, he told her to stay on the porch for a moment. He then took out his gun, opened the door and went inside. Within a few minutes he reappeared.

“All clear.”

“Had to make sure we were alone?” Jess rolled her eyes as she walked past him. Trying her hardest not to sound jealous.

“Had to get the video ready.” He was sarcastic, and sounded harsh. And bitter.

“I’m sorry. It’s just…you’re married and-”

“I have not slept with my wife in years. She barely let me touch her when I was allowed to.” Nick laughed humorlessly. “Look, can we not do this now? Yes, I’m married. You deserve an explanation, and sometime, I’ll give you one, but not tonight. Is that ok with you?

When she turned from the door the blue sun dress she wore swayed yet clung to her hips. He saw her back was bare almost to her ass. She spoke without turning.

“Consider the subject closed. For now.”

“Thank you. Want a drink? Wine?”

“Sure, wine would be great.”

He disappeared around the corner and she moved to the couch in front of the bay window to look out. Nick returned with two glasses of wine and stopped in his tracks.

Jess’ hair hung over her shoulder in cascading curls. The moon shone through the window and caught her dress making it almost transparent. He was still standing there when she turned, settling onto the couch and crossing one long leg over the other. She spread her arms out on the back of the couch expansively.

“It’s beautiful.”

He finally made himself walk toward her and handed her the wine as he sat down.

“Not half as stunning as the view from here, kid.”

She turned slightly, angling her knees as close to him as possible. At first glance he appeared to be completely relaxed. He had one arm resting on the back of the couch while the other gripped his wine glass. He sipped his wine and she noticed his free hand was in a fist, his jaw tight. It was like he was holding himself under rigid control.

He leaned forward and placed the wine on the table, reaching over taking hers as well. He placed his hands around her waist, lifting her onto his lap with little effort, moving her legs so she was facing him. Putting both hands in her hair, he pulled her to him and kissed her, claiming her mouth with brute force he couldn’t control. His tongue filled her mouth with an intoxicating taste of wine…and Nick.

Jess pulled her dress up around her waist and pushed against his cock. She paused for a moment at its sheer size. He pulled back from kissing her and looked at her. All the tension was gone from his face and the only expression was one of hunger.

With a strength she’d never felt, he carried her with her long, muscular legs wrapped around him to the bedroom. Without words, he placed her gently on the edge of the bed, pushed her flat and then leaned over to kiss her, gently this time, soothing her punished, bruised lips.

Moving to his knees he flicked his tongue over her clit causing her to cry out. He licked and sucked around her clit, sliding his stiffened tongue in and out, doing everything but what she so desperately needed. Finally he took her in his mouth and slid one finger in, then two, inside of her. When he hummed against her and thrust his thick fingers against the walls of her pussy once more, she exploded in one of the hardest, deepest orgasms of her life.

author interview with suz deMello, a.k.a sue swift

sue venice maskBest-selling, award-winning author Suz deMello, a.k.a Sue Swift, has written over sixteen romance novels in several subgenres, including erotica, comedy, historical, paranormal, mystery and suspense, plus a number of short stories and non-fiction articles on writing. A freelance editor, she’s worked for Total-E-Bound, Liquid Silver Books and Ai Press, where she is currently Managing Editor. She also takes private clients.

Her books have been favorably reviewed in Publishers Weekly, Kirkus and Booklist, won a contest or two, attained the finals of the RITA and hit several bestseller lists.

A former trial attorney, her passion is world travel. She’s left the US over a dozen times, including lengthy stints working overseas. She’s now writing a vampire tale and planning her next trip.

What inspired you to write your first book?

I had always felt a creative wellspring bubbling inside me, but didn’t know how to express myself. I tried everything—singing in concert choirs and rock bands, craft projects including refinishing old furniture (which I truly do enjoy), majoring in art as an undergrad. But I never felt fulfilled until I took a couple of writing classes at my local community college and started writing my first romance novel.

I chose romance because it’s the largest fiction genre out there. Although I wasn’t a romance fan except for Georgette Heyer—I love Regencies—I felt that the form of the books was easily grasped and used for my own purposes.

How would you describe yourself/life in seven words?

It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.

When did you starting writing erotic fiction?

After my line closed at Silhouette Books and I got a severe case of writer’s block, a few of my friends suggested I make a complete change from writing sweet, traditional romances (which had never really suited me anyways) to erotic romance. They were right—I was completely energized by the change and my career has really taken off.

 Missionary or on top?

Neither.

Can lust and desire make the smartest person really, really, stupid? Why or why not?

Oh, yeah. I’ve done some really stupid things in the name of love. I think it’s the impact of oxytocin, the “feel-good” hormone. Women secrete it when we orgasm, and because it’s also “the bonding hormone,” when we have great sex with someone who’s a toad, we nevertheless may fall in love with the toad. I’m still pulling out of those feelings in regard to a disastrous affair I had nearly two years ago with someone who really is messed up. Of course, at the time I thought he was the coolest person alive. Now I see how messed-up he and his life are, but even knowing that intellectually doesn’t change this mysterious pull I have toward him.

 Does size matter?

Oh, sure. Too small is just that—too small. Same with too big. But in general, “it’s not the meat but the motion,” as Maria Muldaur put it.

Is a polyamorous relationship just a fantasy or can it truly be successful?

I’ve seen poly work, but to last a long time, those relationships take a great deal of effort, communication and love between all the participants. Most often, however, I see poly done badly—poor communication, secret-keeping, sneaking around, compartmentalization rather than integration and so on. If your partner has others, and doesn’t communicate adequately, it can be a nightmare. Poly takes a lot of maturity and attention.

Tell us something that would surprise your readers, or something most people don’t know about you.

I’m a switch.

VERY interesting! For those of you who don’t know, a switch is both a submissive AND a dominant, which you don’t always see.

Sounds hot, Suz. And busy, lol. So is there any additional info you would like to share with your readers about what’s next for you and your books?

I’m continuing with my Highland Vampires series from Ellora’s Cave. Right now I’m writing what will be, chronologically, the first book in the series—though it’s the fourth novel—my head sometimes works like that. I’m planning two more books, one set in the 13th century and the other in the Victorian Age.

author interview with Cassandra Carr

Cassandra Carr is a multi-award winning romance writer. When not writing she enjoys watching hockey and hanging out online. Cassandra’s books have won numerous “Best Book Of” awards and her novella Unexpected Top was nominated in the E-book Erotic Romance category of RT’s Reviewers’ Choice Awards.

She thinks the best part of being a writer is how she writes about love and sex while most others struggle with daily commutes, micro-managing bosses and cranky co-workers. Her inspiration comes from everywhere, but she’d particularly like to thank the Buffalo Sabres, the hockey team near and dear to her heart.

For more information about Cassandra, check out her website, “like” her Facebook fan page or follow her on Twitter.

Describe your novel in seven words or less?

A BDSM relationship gets turned upside-down.

Favorite book?

Pride & Prejudice

Fictional crush?

John Thornton, North and South

Who is your favorite character that YOU have written?

Sebastian, the hero of the first book I ever wrote, Should’ve Known Better.

What inspired you to write your first book? Do you have a specific writing style? How did you come up with the title?

My mother told me “You should fictionalize your fanfic story and see if you can get it published.” My writing style has been called “concise”. I’m not sure that’s a compliment, lol. Awakening was the perfect title for a woman discovering BDSM and a man figuring out he doesn’t always have to be the strong one.

What was the last movie you went to see?

The Nut Job – at least in the theaters, that was the last one I saw. I also watched Frozen with my daughter, on the floor of a church community center. Let’s just say I’m too old to be doing stuff like that very often.

What type of person do you dislike most?

Adults who don’t act like grown-ups. I swear some adults have more tantrums than my five-year-old does. Also, people who don’t follow through on what they say they’re going to do. Being left in the lurch is a huge annoyance for me.

What was the hardest part of writing your book?

It’s the longest book I’ve ever written, and I nicknamed it The Book That Would Never End. That should tell you all you need to know…

How many novels, short stories have you published?

I have around forty works published, from shorts all the way up to full-length books like Awakening.

When did you starting writing erotic fiction?

The second book I wrote was Talk to Me, which is erotic. That’s what I was reading at the time and it sounded fun to write.

Do you see body type as part of the character?

It can be, especially for a female character. One with big boobs might be perceived in a way she doesn’t want to be. Ditto for someone who’s overweight.

Is a polyamorous relationship just a fantasy or can it truly be successful?

It can be, sure. But it’s most definitely not easy. Perhaps the hardest part would be having it out in the open. So many people would judge you.

Talk about the first erotic story you wrote

That was Talk to Me. The entire book was based on the premise of being turned on by someone’s voice. In this case, a radio producer falls in lust (and then love) with the radio personality she’s working for. See? A tiny kernel can become an entire book!

Can anyone write erotic fiction?

No, and not everyone should. Most of us have sex (or there’d be no babies), but not everyone can describe the act without sounding ridiculous.

How did you learn to write good sex?

Read a lot. Strangely enough, one person who I think does great sex scenes is Lisa Kleypas in her historicals. I own every one and learned a ton from her.

What does indie publishing allow that traditional publishing does not, specifically with regards to erotic romance?

The chance to write something “outside the box”. Right now I’m revising a dark erotic trilogy to be released in the beginning of May (the Payment series) and I doubt any publisher would’ve gone for the story.

Do you like pushing the envelope?

I do. That doesn’t mean I do it a lot, but it’s fun to see what readers react to.

Tell us something that would surprise your readers, or something most people don’t know about you.

I’m actually pretty shy, and book signings are not one of my favorite activities. I feel like I sit there for hours with a smile plastered on my face, hoping someone will notice me. So if you’re at the RT book fair, come say hi! I’ll feel like less of a loser. 😉

How do you describe sex scenes and keep them from becoming repetitive?

Use a lot of different descriptions and adjectives. I know that sounds like a no-brainer, but I just read a group of five shorts by the same author, and she repeated three or four phrases multiple times.

Do you think it is best to call body parts by their anatomically correct names, or come up with euphemisms?

If the euphemism isn’t ridiculous it’s okay, but so many of them are that I tend to use the common way of saying something.

Is there any additional info you would like to share with your readers about what’s next for you and your books?

*takes deep breath*

On May 1st a bundle of sports romance books called Heart of a Champion releases. On May 6th a trilogy of dark erotic (the Payment series) will come out.

On June 1st another bundle – the Occupational Hazards boxed set, will come out, as well as Scorin’ on the Fourth of July, which is part of a series of shorts called Red Hot & BOOM.

On August 1st my Decadent novella, Burning Love, will release as part of their Calendar Men series. On the 15th a male/male bundle, tentatively titled Boys Will Do Boys, is due out. There’s another MM bundle too, not sure of the release date.

There are other things too, but I think that’s enough to give you all a starting point. 😉

Make sure to check out Awakening by Cassandra!

AwakeningBlurb: Vanessa Clark is doing a research paper for one of her last classes – Psychology of Sex – before receiving her Bachelors’ degree. Once she discovers the topic of BDSM, everything else pales in comparison. But where will she learn about it? The Internet has its limits, and Vanessa needs to talk to real-life practitioners of BDSM to really understand the lifestyle and write about it.

Will Astin, who serves as a dungeon master at a local BDSM club, doesn’t expect to find a gorgeous, irresistible young woman when he agrees to a meet and greet with a college student as a favor to the club’s owner. Even better, she’s interested in learning about BDSM for what he suspects are more than scholarly reasons, and Will decides he’s just the man to teach her about it, hopefully claiming her for his own.

Will and Vanessa begin a journey which teaches both of them there’s more to BDSM than meets the eye. In the process, they grow closer, but when Will’s job puts him in the line of fire – literally – their roles are reversed and Vanessa has to take charge. Can they handle the rapid shift in their burgeoning dynamic, or is their relationship doomed?

author interview with erin moore

DSC_0306colorErin has been writing her entire life, but only recently found her voice in the paranormal romance world.

She’s an avowed chocoholic, loves travel and good tea, and finds her inner peace by meditating and writing.

If you were given a chance to travel back in time, what year or place would you go and why?

Oooh, tough choice, but probably Constantinople before it was sacked by the Crusaders, sometime in the early 1200’s. Just seems super fascinating, opulent, and cosmopolitan, with its huge baths, cisterns, and golden palaces.

Describe your novel in seven words or less?

Shamans, sensual, mystical, transformative, illuminating

What is the last book you read?

Just finished The Chalice and The Blade. It’s non-fiction, so I can’t say it was a page-turner, but it’s research for my upcoming pre-historic romances. All about the real role that women played from pre-history through today. Super fascinating read.

Who is your favorite character that YOU have written?

Rhiannon is my favorite so far. She’s the heroine of a short story that will soon be up on my website. Her darkness and her struggles are fascinating to me, and sort of just blew me away.

What inspired you to write your first book? Do you have a specific writing style? How did you come up with the title?

I started writing when I had my quarter life crisis, but it wasn’t until the birth of my second baby that I decided that I had to use my brain for something other than singing kiddie songs. My writing style, I’ve learned, is really “seat of my pants-ish”. I’ve tried some other methods, but every time, those books got bogged down and are sitting in a drawer (metaphorically). And I’ve been very lucky to have found a “brain trust” that helps me with titles – we bounce around ideas –some ludicrous- until one sticks.

If Hollywood made a movie about your life, whom would you like to see play the lead role as you?

Keri Russel (remember Felicity?), mainly because she has beautiful curly hair. The way mine would be if I had a stylist. I imagine.

What was the hardest part of writing your book?

The hardest part of writing the books is the afterwards – the marketing, blogging, tweeting, etc. I guess I thought that I would just send these books out into the world and they would instantly be best-sellers. That was not exactly how it worked out…

What do you like to do when you’re not writing?

I love to read, of course, like any writer. I’m also into a lot of the crazy things my characters are doing – traveling, drum circles, shamanism, meditation, chanting. They all keep me grounded when dealing with two little ones all day. And then, because I needed more things to distract me, I just started a blog with two other mommy friends to focus on holistic living (holisticmamasatlanta.com). But otherwise, I’m just a normal crazy mom.

Is there any additional info you would like to share with your readers about what’s next for you and your books?

My next books will be a trilogy set in pre-historical times, from hunter-gatherer to Atlantis and beyond, and I am super excited. I love Clan of the Cave Bear books, and can never seem to find enough of them.

Can you share a bit with us about The Shaman’s Temptation with us?

ErinMoore_TheShamansTemptation-600

Blurb:

A Shaman’s temptation could be the undoing of his people…

Madeleine Greenway, perfectionist and analyst for Surety Bank, has no place in her rigidly organized life for something as unpredictable as a man, much less a Native American shaman. Sent to the White Mountain reservation to help the tribe finance its new casino, she meets Tak, a proud, beautiful Apache, and finds herself surrounded by something magical in the Arizona desert. His touch becomes a passport to otherworldly bliss, and the strange coyote she sees makes her question what’s real. But it’s the amazing sex with Tak that makes Madeleine lose sight of her goal—to guarantee that Surety Bank’s investment in the casino won’t fail.

Last in a long line of shaman shape-shifters, Tak Nah-Kah-Yen has sworn a vow of celibacy to his gods. But Madeleine’s lithe body and honeyed lips compel him to forswear his pledge, claiming her for his own. His passion for her overshadows his link to his gods at a time when he most needs their help. Desperate to find funding for the casino and lift his people out of poverty, he’d accepted start-up money from less than savory sources who are willing to kill to guarantee their profit—the profit Madeleine’s bank jeopardizes…
