Twists and Turns of Fate

I have been asked so much about my inspiration for some of the ideas behind ‘Sweet Secrets,’ so I am going to tell you just a little bit about the main themes of my novel.

‘Sweet Secrets’ is not a fluffy novel, although it has many fun moments. When I set out to write it I did not pull any punches with a couple of my themes but they are called for and show how strong women can be when we are stuck in a predicament.

Carrie Ann is a strong character although she might not seem that way right at the beginning of her journey. I do hope it will give a fantastic feeling to read about her though, as she battles her demons.

Stories of people overcoming are the kind of books I love reading and I hope you do to? They can touch the heart in so many ways. We all have major issues and constantly juggle so many complex balls in our day to day existence.

In ‘Sweet Secrets,’ I wanted to make people question and I wanted to write about a touchy topic as you will see. Books that put us in the situation where we can say, ‘boy I’ve had to do that and it’s not easy, no one understood what I was going through,’ can give such a feeling of hope. This is what I set out to achieve and I hope in the end I have treated the subjects I have chosen in an upbeat fashion that leaves you, the reader with a feel good factor. I tried very hard to get the balance right, so that the problems added to the character. Do we get the happy ending? You’ll have to wait and see.

Carrie Ann has had her fair share of strife and things are not going to be easy as she battles the ghosts of her past and crosses paths with an unlikely obstacle to her future happiness in the guise of her young love interest, Dominic. Dominic is a man who has a few secrets of his own to unveil as you will see.

When you meet Carrie Ann she is still insecure about life, as lots of us are. She has also just decided to unveil her cleverness although she is still masking her passions. Confronted by a young handsome guy when she least expects it, takes her a bit by surprise. She is not looking for romance because her erotic fantasies and her burgeoning cake business are enough, but Dominic is not about to go away. Carrie Ann lies – something I think we are all guilty of – but in her case her lies make her own trap as she hugs her closely guarded secret to her. As she falls deeper into love and deceit she finds herself in an impossible situation that can only be remedied by a couple of twists and turns of fate.
